Mark the date on your wall calendar

Halloween marks the beginning of the end of the year. With only two more months of 2014, the days will fly by with the holidays and other events so it’s best to keep track in a BIG WAY by posting an extra-large monthly whiteboard calendar on the wall where everyone can follow the countdown of activities.

You can easily create a large dry erase wall calendar with dry erase boards from WriteyBoard that are easily mounted to the wall. Or, for a truly wall-sized calendar, apply Writeyboard’s clear paint to a wall and use dry erase markers to plug in dates. If plans change, simply erase them. It’s that easy.

And it’s super helpful—especially in the workplace–to see what’s going on. Typically this is the time when employees must use their vacation days before the year is up yet when one worker is out it often affects the entire staff so it’s good to visually alert the team via a visible calendar.

At home, there will be family affairs as well as individual events each member must attend so putting all of these dates on a large dry erase wall calendar in the kitchen or family room is a good plan. It will let everyone know where they need to be and what they need to do. For example, if junior has a bake sale on Friday, this may mean Dad has to bake cupcakes on Thursday and Mom needs to purchase the ingredients on Wednesday.

Daylight Savings Time starts on Sunday, November 2 so make a note on the extra-large dry erase calendar to change your clocks on Saturday, November 1.You’ll need that extra sleep so you’re fresh for Election Day which falls on Tuesday, November 4. The following Tuesday, November 11, is Veterans’ Day. Schools, banks, the post office and other institutions will be closed which means children may require a babysitter or an activity to keep them busy.

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 27 which means you may need to schedule time to prepare for guests or travel out of town to see extended family members and friends. Black Friday is November 28. That’s the time when most stores have sales. This is an ideal day to shop if you’ll be giving gifts for Hanukkah (which starts on December 16) or Kwanzaa (which begins on December 26).

Christmas Eve is Wednesday, December 24, followed by Christmas Day on Thursday, December 25. Like Thanksgiving, these dates are often marked by entertaining family and friends or traveling to see them.

Lastly, you’ll want to mark your calendar for New Year’s Eve which is Wednesday, December 31. After reflecting on all the things that happened, you can quickly erase everything on your Writeyboard dry erase wall calendar as you prepare plan new dates for 2015.
